What is a UK Standard Visitor Visa?

The UK Standard Visitor Visa is designed for individuals who wish to travel to the United Kingdom for short-term purposes such as tourism, visiting family and friends, attending business meetings, taking part in cultural or sports events, or receiving private medical treatment.

This visa usually allows stays of up to 6 months, although in some cases (such as private medical treatment or academic research), applicants may be permitted to stay longer. Importantly, this visa does not allow long-term employment, marriage (without a special visa), or extended study.

The Standard Visitor Visa ensures travelers can enter the UK legally, enjoy their stay without complications, and comply with UK immigration rules during their visit.
